Eagle Gunworks and Finishing, owned by Darren Smith, is a one-man gunsmith operation situated in the scenic region of North Idaho. As a Federal Firearms Licensee, Darren provides a range of services including gunsmithing, certified Cerakote finishing, special order firearms, transfers, and operates as a Class 2 NFA dealer/manufacturer. He has a particular focus on 1911-style pistols, AR-15s, revolvers, and bolt-action rifles. His expertise is complemented by a collection that features antique World War artifacts alongside modern firearms, showcasing his diverse skill set. With over forty years of experience in handling, competing, and appreciating firearms, Darren has developed a unique foundation of knowledge. His meticulous attention to detail ensures that all gunsmithing work is performed to the highest standards of accuracy, safety, and aesthetics. If a task does not meet his rigorous quality benchmarks, he is committed to redoing it until it does. Darren is also active in the local Idaho IDPA matches, serving as both a competitor and safety officer. In his spare time, he enjoys working in his custom gun shop at home, where he experiments with innovative builds, or spending time at the shooting range with family and friends. Previously, he participated in cowboy action shooting under the alias ‘Dakota Dillon’ in SASS, earning multiple accolades.
